Fed coin thief had a weighty job: As some people longingly look forward to the day that society will be cashless, Stephen Lancaster Dennis, 49, must love loose coins rattling around his life. The Alabama resident was recently charged with stealing $196,000 in quarters from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. The inside job quickly became the butt of jokes at the U.S. Department of Justice and among the media.
