Hedge Funds Up 6% In 2019 As Crowded Trades Bounce Back: GoldmanRupert Hargreaves
2018 was one of the worst years for the hedge fund industry since the financial crisis. The average equity hedge fund returned -7% in 2018, underperforming the S&P 500 which fell -4% over the same timeframe.
This is the worst annual performance for equity hedge funds since 2011 when they declined -8%.
