Hedge Fund Founded By SAC Alumni And Mitch McConnell’s Brother In Law Starts 2019 With Strong Gain

Electron Capital Partners' Electron Global Fund, which founded by SAC-alumni Jos Shaver, has made a strong start to 2019.

Q4 hedge fund letters, conference, scoops etc

Shaver set up Electron after leaving SAC Capital in 2013. When he decided to go it alone, he also took with him several former SAC traders Neil Choi, Peter Suozzo, Ran Zhou, and Jeff Zheng to help run his new enterprise. At SAC Shaver managed the firm's utility and infrastructure stock-focused team, which was part of the firm's strategy between 2008 and 2013, managing an average of $1.3 billion.

An interesting sidepoint,

  • Jos Shavers is married to Christine Chao, one of six daughters born to shipping magnate James S. C. Chao
  • Christine Chao’s sister is Elaine Chao, Trump's secretary of transportation and Mitch McConnell's’s wife.

That makes Shavers Mitch Mitch McConnell's brother in law!!
