Billion Dollar Hedge Funds Gain In First Half

While many investors have begun moving away from hedge funds recently, large funds are still way up for the first half of the year. According to Absolute Return’s semi-annual Billion Dollar Club ranking, total assets for hedge funds with at least $1 billion in assets hit $1.57 trillion spread across 287 funds, reports Lawrence Delevingne for CNBC. That’s a 7.46 percent increase since the start of the year and close to the all-time high of $1.68 trillion hit just before the financial collapse in July 2008.
