For Dmitry Balyasny, founder and Chief Investment Officer at Balyasny Asset Management, 2016 was a “roller coaster” that few could have anticipated. With the S&P 500 up 11.57% in 2016 via the SPX, Atlas Global subtracting -1.33% off performance on the year is a result of “challenges” the fund faced, a year-end letter to investors reviewed by ValueWalk said.
