Google Celebrates International Women's Day With A Colorful Doodle

The International Women’s Day (IWD) was originally called International Working Women’s Day, is celebrated on March 8th of every year. It is an international holiday that was first celebrated as a national holiday on February 28th of 1909, after a declaration of the Socialist Party of America.

Then on March 18th, 1911 it was marked as a holiday for the people on Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Russia celebrated the first IWD on the last Sunday of February of 1913.

In 1977 the International Women’s day was proclaimed by the United Nations to be celebrated on March 8 of each year.

Google is also celebrating women day with a very nice Doodle that includes a flower. This virtual yellow flower is in the middle of the Doodle. A yellow flower is actually a joy flower; it activates creativity and intellectuality, because of its color.

Google characterizes itself for celebrating holidays around the world with their Doodles. It is something pretty fun to watch, and also expected. Of you want to take a look to the Doodles Google has done in the past click here. We will see what they prepare for us on April fool’s day.

As tradition men are encouraged to give flowers to women on this date. Are you going to follow Google and celebrate women day by giving a fragrant flower to anyone?

Happy Women’s day to all the ladies who reads us every day.
