2016 could be a record year for Green Bonds

Green Bonds  are hot – If current trends persist, 2016 is set to see a record level of Green Bond issuance this year. According to HSBC’s regular Global Green Bonds research report, the total value of global green bonds issued so far this year is US$18.9 billion, up 92% year-on-year and on track to meet the bank’s forecast issuance of US$55 billion to $80 billion for 2016. A wide variety of corporate’s, governments and banks have tapped the green bond market for finance so far this year.
