Institutional ETF ownership of assets grew by $213 billion, reaching $1.44 trillion in 2016 that’s according to Deutsche Bank’s 2016 Guide To Institutional ETF Ownership published this week. The report gives a comprehensive rundown of institutional ETF ownership, including over 780,000 ETF positions across all US domiciled ETFs in the last 17 years. At the end of 2016, almost 3500 institutional investors held more than $1.44 trillion in ETF assets. In total, these holdings accounted for about 59% of all ETF assets.
