FOX Business Network’s (FBN) Senior Correspondent Charlie Gasparino reports that the “London Stock Exchange Group Plc (LON:LSE) cancelled its annual analyst shareholder meeting” for this Friday. Gasparino went on to report, that cancelling this meeting is “fueling speculation about a potential deal” with NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:NDAQ). Gasparino further reported “that there are no active talks between both sides.”

LSE Cancels Shareholder Meeting, Could be in Talks with Nasdaq

On whether the London Stock Exchange (LSE) is in talks with NASDAQ:

“London Stock Exchange Group Plc (LON:LSE) cancelled its annual analyst shareholder meeting… it was scheduled for Friday. Those meetings, almost always are never cancelled. You cancel other  events for that and when we first reported that, it sent out sort of a shock wave among bankers and traders about why would you do that essentially fueling speculation about a potential deal. Now here is why shares of NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:NDAQ) spiked and I was pretty clear about this when I reported it. They spiked because NASDAQ and LSE have been unofficial talk bases now for like five or six years, so there was a lot of speculation about NASDAQ, we reported that. We also reported first on FOX Business that there are no active talks between both sides. That is what our sources are saying.”
