Lately, the news out of China has a bit of “The Onion” feel to it – between arresting short-sellers, encouraging farmers to leverage their savings and “invest” in the stock market, and more, but this one takes the crown. The China head of Man Group reemerged from a mysterious week-long absence yesterday to dispel rumors that she had been assisting a police investigation into market volatility. Li Yifei, the chairwoman of Man Group China, said she had been attending industry meetings and then took a five-to-six day trip to meditate.
