Samantha Greenberg is a New York City area resident who likes the city’s professional sports teams. The Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Margate Capital, a Goldman Sachs and Paulson & Company alumni, looks at The Madison Square Garden Company and likes what she sees. But it is not necessarily due to the resurgent New York Rangers, who recently beat the Montreal Canadians to advance in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Samantha Greenberg – Margate Capital benchmarks itself to the S&P 500 but is a Long / Short strategy

In the first quarter of 2017 Margate Capital’s Long / Short strategy delivered 1% to investors on a net basis, following 3.8% net performance in the fourth quarter of 2016. While the fund proclaims their benchmark to be the S&P 500, the short end of the strategy typically detracts from performance during periods of positive stock market beta.
