Every year is supposed to be the one where active finally outperforms passive, but if you were counting on that year to be 2016 do not get too excited (at least yet) Only 27% of average large-cap core mutual funds could beat the S&P 500 return of 2%, while only 9% of large-cap growth funds outperformed the Russell 1000 Growth index, reports Goldman Sachs.
