Quality Dividend Investing

I’ve added a new lecture this week into the free mini online course for readers.

This weeks module is entitled:

Four Rules of Quality Dividend Investing

Q3 hedge fund letters, conference, scoops etc

The new module will be about quality dividend investing that teaches students how to build a sustainable cash generating dividend portfolio.

The key here is sustainability as opposed to just investing in dividend stocks that you later see cut their dividends.

I’ve broken it down into four simple rules which I introduce this week.

I will be going through each of them in detail in the coming week with case studies and relevant financial data to drive home the point.

If you’ve already subscribed to the mini-course, it will be automatically available to you in the new lecture series.

If you haven’t, what are you waiting for!

The course is free and you will be able to watch this week’s video along with our earlier training series.

How To Invest Profitably Like Warren Buffett – A Crash Course on Value Investing

More information about the course can be found in the earlier post which I have re-posted here.

Who is this course for?

The course is aimed at both beginners and intermediate investors and gives you an insight to the investing strategy that has made Warren Buffett one of the most successful investors in the world.

Much less common and well known is Benjamin Graham, his teacher and author of the Intelligent Investor and Security Analysis.

The reason why I like to talk about value investing is that you will find many successful investors other than Warren Buffett who have applied a similar framework. This applies not only to professional investors but retail investors too.

Even if you do not pick stocks and choose to invest in low cost index funds or ETFS or utilize services like robo-advisors, you will still take away a lot of useful information that will be useful they are still essentially relying on fundamental factors to drive returns (i.e. fundamental analysis)

I also talk a lot about market psychology – something that is relevant regardless of any investing style you choose to utilize.

Why should I sign up for this course?

Many of the people I have spoken to have cited a lack of time and resources to run through the vast amount of books and videos on value investing.

I completely understand, and have tried to distill the key principles that embody value investing  in the most time efficient manner possible.

What will this course cover?

Quality Dividend Investing

In 30 minutes, I will talk about the history of value investing, the key principles which it makes up the core framework, the reasons why people lose money in the stock market as well as the key differences between fundamental analysis and technical analysis.

I will also make the case to you why I think value investing is a vastly superior investing framework that anyone can apply in their own investing journey based on both academic evidence as well as my own personal investing experiences.

Who am I?

My name is Richard (Jun Hao) Tay and I’ve been teaching and writing about value investing for several years now. I frequently give guest talks at Universities and investment conferences in Singapore. I am also a portfolio manager at a research driven value investment fund based in Singapore.
