While Equity and Fixed Income strategies dominated investor and consultant strategy views globally and in most of the countries and regions tracked in the October 2018 Advantage Viewership Report, investors and consultants in the United Kingdom showed an outsized interest in Balanced/Multi-Asset strategies, in particular Diversified Growth Funds, according to the just-released report.

Eight of the most viewed strategies by U.K. investors and consultants using eVestment in October were Balanced/Multi-Asset strategies. Four of the strategies with the largest proportional increase in views (most recent month vs. prior six months) from U.K. investors and consultants were also Balanced/Multi-Asset strategies.

Some other interesting findings from the report include:

  • BlackRock was the most viewed firm across eVestment institutional investor and consultant users in October. Its Fixed Income Global Opportunities (FIGO) (Unconstrained Non-US Domiciled) strategy, driven mainly by views from Canada-based users, and its Global Bond strategy, driven by U.S.-based user views, were the main sources of interest for the firm.
  • Jackson Square Partners LLC saw the greatest increase in interest from eVestment clients in October, as measured by the proportional increase in views the firm captured this month versus the prior six months. The interest was led by the firm’s Smid-Cap Growth – Focus and Large-Cap Growth Equity products from users located in the U.S.
  • Institutional investor and consultant clients located in Canada showed a rapid rise in interest in fixed income strategies, specifically to products within the US Convertibles and Canadian Corporate Fixed Income universes. Among U.K. users there was swift rise in interest in balanced/multi-asset products, in particular to strategies within the Diversified Growth Funds universe.
  • WEDGE Capital Management, LLP was the second most viewed firm in October and the top firm by the increase in proportion of views received from clients located in Asia ex-Japan. The firm’s US-focused equity strategy (QVM Small/Mid Cap Value) was the most viewed product among users in the region and also had the largest increase in the proportion of views captured.
  • Viewership activity by U.S. investors and consultants was concentrated on U.S. equity strategies in October, but there was a rapid rise in interest in U.S. fixed income strategies. The top viewed universes included all three style variations of U.S. small cap equity and U.S. large cap equity universes, yet the top three universes by increases in proportion of views captured were US Core Fixed Income, US Short Duration Fixed Income, and US Intermediate Duration Fixed Income.

The Advantage investment viewership data is generated through the eVestment Advantage solution and based on tracking daily eVestment user reviews of investment universes and products on eVestment. The report looks at Global, United States, United Kingdom, Europe ex-U.K., Japan, Asia ex-Japan, Australia and Canada profile viewership activity among the institutional investors and consultants who use eVestment. The report looks at the most viewed products and universes overall for the past month and the universes and products that saw the most month-over-month growth in views on the site.
