SEC To Expand Regulatory Testing To Additional Asset Classes

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is pushing its testing methodology to include new categories of investment managers, ensuring specific regulations are being followed, particularly with regards to fee accounting in preferred co-investments. SEC plans to test managers in credit, infrastructure and timber Alternative investment managers in credit, infrastructure and timber will be required to pass the SEC’s investment examinations, Marc Wyatt, acting director of the SEC’s office of compliance inspections and examinations, said in a speech in New York Wednesday, Pensions and Investments magazine reported.
