Sio Partners Returns 8.1% Net In 2021 As These Short Postions Return

Sio Partners, LP, the flagship hedge fund of Sio Capital, a global equity market neutral healthcare hedge fund, returned 8.1% net of fees and expenses in February, compared with 2.8% for the S&P 500 Total Return Index, -2.8% for the MSCI World Healthcare Index, and 2.5% for the MSCI World Index.

Since its inception in June 2006, Sio has achieved an annualized return of 10.9%, compared to 7.5% for the MSCI World Healthcare index. The year’s average gross exposure to the end of February was 220% with a net exposure of 2%, long exposure of 111%, and short exposure of 109%.

According to a copy of the firm’s February investor update, a copy of which ValueWalk has been able to review, Sio’s long investments contributed 3.7% to overall performance last month.

Short investments contributed 6.3% to performance.
