Q4 hedge fund letters, conference, scoops etc Steve Mandel stepped down from his position managing Lone Pine Capital, the hedge fund he started after leaving Tiger Management in 1997. Mandel was employed initially by Robertson as a consumer analyst for Tiger Management after a six-year run at Goldman Sachs, where he worked as a retail analyst.
