Tax Reform Could Boost S&P 500 Earnings Even More Than Expected

One of the biggest beneficiaries of Trump’s tax reform bill is billionaire Warren Buffett, whose conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway recorded a profit boost of $29 billion in 2017 as a result of the tax change. This improvement nearly doubled Berkshire Hathaway’s profit for the year. “A large portion of our gain did not come from anything we accomplished at Berkshire,” Warren Buffett wrote in his year-end letter to investors. “Only $36 billion came from Berkshire’s operations.
