Tom Russo Previews Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting [VIDEO]

We had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with superinvestor Tom Russo, Partner at Gardner Russo & Gardner, ahead of the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) Annual Meeting on May 4th, 2013.

Having attended the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meetings for nearly three decades, Tom sees the gathering as a “process of reaffirmation of the core values” for investors. In particular, Tom has over the years come to an “ever increasing awareness of the value of companies that have the ability to reinvest internally.” In the following video, we show some of the highlights of the conversation.

This might be my 27th or 28th visit to Omaha for the Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.A) (NYSE:BRK.B) annual meeting. It’s a process of reaffirmation of the core values. I personally think they’re values that have become more refined and more focused over the years. What I take away through my own investor evolution during that time is an ever-increasing awareness of the value of companies that have the ability to reinvest internally. That’s not something shared broadly, if you think of the difference between a domestic food company in North America and Nestle SA (VTX:NESN) (ETR:NESR) (FRA:NESR).
