About 43% of U.S. households owned mutual funds in mid-2014, compared to roughly 4% holding ETFs, notes Credit Suisse. Dana Saporta and Axel Lang of Credit Suisse’s Economics Research team in their August 27, 2015 research report “US Economics Digest” point out that mutual fund flows moderated in 2014 and during the first half of this year.
