HFT Firms Virtu, Optiver Enter Chinese Market

As China suspends one trading account at Citadel Securities, it is opening the door to high frequency trading firm Virtu Financial. Virtu signs deal in what is believed to be “the first step in a very long process” Virtu is one of the world’s largest high frequency traders and its move into China markets the 35th country in which it operates, Bloomberg reported. One strategy among HFT firms is to arbitrage temporary price disparities between exchanges in different geographic regions.
