Cape Town’s water crisis, which has been ongoing for some time but really only hit global headlines earlier this year, brought home to many how close the world is to a worldwide water catastrophe. The city managed to stave off disaster this year, but unless there is some substantial rainfall over the next 12 months, Cape Town is on track to crash into another water crisis during 2019.
