WhatsApp has started rolling out a new video-calling feature to users in India, estimated at 150 million. The mobile messaging app, which Facebook bought for $19.3 billion in 2014, has over a billion users across the world. The video feature brings WhatsApp, developed by former Yahoo engineers, into direct competition with Skype, a Scandinavian messaging company owned by Microsoft since 2011. “We’re introducing this feature because we know that sometimes voice and text just aren’t enough.
