Cedar Realty Case Goes To Arbitrator

One key hurdle in Bruce Schanzer’s legal battle with an employee has been cleared, but another is on the horizon. The 49-year-old CEO of Cedar Realty was accused of sexual harassment and pay discrimination almost one year ago. The lawsuit, which came amid a bitter hedge fund fight over the fate of the Cedar Realty Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and Schanzer’s management, was dismissed by a New York State Supreme Court in Kings County. The court ruled that the accuser’s claims should be resolved through an existing arbitration case, which the company points out is mandated in her employment…
