Hedge funds appear to be turning things around in 2023, thanks to the recovery in the rest of the equity market. Goldman Sachs reports that the average hedge fund has returned 3% in early 2023 after being in the red for all of 2022, at -4%. The firm added that the rally in the stock market and the particularly robust performance of the most popular hedge fund positions boosted the average hedge fund in early 2023.
