South Korea Prepares Unmanned Attack Helicopter For Test Flight

South Korea continues to modernize its military at a rather quick pace, as North Korea’s hostilities continue.  Korean Air Aerospace Division (KAL-ASD), with some assistance from Boeing, was able to convert US-made MD 500 light attack helicopter from manned to unmanned.  The KUS-VH, as the helicopter is known by, is said to be equipped with two hellfire air-to-surface missiles and several rockets.  While the new unmanned choppers are still in the prototype phase, their first scheduled test flight is set to take place this month.  The move comes as Seoul plans to retire older, lighter attack helicopters over the next…
